Incredible Birds!! 

Birds, the most beautiful, colourful and amazing creatures flying high in the sky. There are so many different and wonderful varieties of birds that we can't even imagine. In the same region of the country, we notice lots of varieties in different seasons. 

I think we all have wished once in our life to feel so free and fly high like them! 

Birds make us feel the real beauty of nature.

 So let us meet some of the most beautiful birds in the world .......!

Blue Jay

It is found in Newfoundland, Canada and North America.

They mainly feed on nuts and seeds, it sometimes eats insects from the air. Like squirrels, Blue Jays are known to hide nuts for later consumption. It is sometimes called ' Jay Bird'. Males and females are quite identical but the male is slightly larger. Blue Jay is a noisy, bold and aggressive bird

Hoatzin 

It is a total length of 65 cm and a long neck and a small head. It has a blue face with maroon eyes. 

It is a herbivore, eating leaves and fruits. The hoatzin is the national bird of Guyana! In Brazil indigenous people sometimes collect eggs for food and adults are occasionally hunted, but in general, it is rare, because of its bad taste.

Silver Pheasant

It's a species found in forests, mountains and mainlands of Asia, China, Hawaii and the US mainland. 

The males are black and white while the females are brown. They have bright red face and legs and eat a diet of berries, seeds, grains and insects. These birds communicate with the help of loud whistles. They prefer to run while can fly fast for short distances.

Flamingo

Flamingos are large birds that are identified by their long necks, stick-like legs and pink or reddish feathers.

The reddish colour of feathers come from eating pigments found in algae and invertebrates. The lesser flamingo is the smallest and can reach 3 feet tall, weighs 5 to 6 pounds. 

An adult flamingo legs can be 30- 50 inches long, which is longer than its entire body!

Puffin

Puffins are found in North America, Europe, most of the world's puffins are found in Iceland. 

These are also called ' sea parrot' - distinguished by their large, brightly coloured, triangular barks. A puffin's beak changes colour during the year! They spend most of their lives out at sea, resting on the waves when not swimming. These birds are carnivorous and feed on small fishes like sand eels.

King of Saxony

This King is a bird in the bird of paradise family. 

The head wires of the king of Saxony are unlike any other feathers in the world. The diet consists of fruits, berries and arthropods. The males are black and yellow with aqua green mouths while the females are greyish brown. The bird is sometimes called 'Kissaba'. The adult king of Saxony is approx 22 cm
