There are so many variations of trees all around the world. Varying from height, colourful blossoms, fruits and many more. 
You can feel the real beauty of nature by exploring some amazing and stunning trees around you.
So, here we are going to discuss some fantastic fun facts about one of those stunning trees called Wisteria!











•Wisterias are beautiful and fragrant vines, native to Japan( Wisteria Floribunda), China( Wisteria Sinensis) and some parts of North America.

• There are about 10 species of Wisteria with blue, pink, white and purple blossoms. 




• Wisteria brachybotrys' Shiro Kapitan' and Wisteria brachybotrys ' Murasaki Kapitan' are the most fragrant species having a very sweet smell.

•The world's largest known Wisteria is in S.Madre, California,  measuring more than one acre in size and weighing 250 tons!

•These amazing vines are members of the pea family and can climb as high as 20m above ground and spread out 10 m laterally.

•Wisteria trees are believed to symbolise long life and immortality as they can live for more than 100 years.

• In Japan, there is a 1200 years old Wisteria tree!










•These trees can also be cultivated through bonsai.

•Its seeds are grown in pods and are poisonous. 
Hence, all the plant parts are poisonous and contain a toxic chemical wisteria which 
can cause dizziness, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, etc.

• These trees generally take fifteen years to bloom after the seeds are sown. You need the patience to enhance the look and to add that 'wow factor' to your garden, however just because of this long duration usually grafts or cuttings are used for their cultivation.

•The seed pods are produced in late summers and look like peas. Its believed that it is best to cut these seed pods off, for keeping the Wisteria blooming.


• Wisteria designs have been used in artistic work and building materials such as tiles, stained glasses and many more.



• The 'Fuji Musume' or 'The Wisteria Maiden' is a popular dance form in Japan.
 

In which a girl personifies the spirit of Wisteria wearing a kimono, sash with wisteria prints on it and carrying a wisteria branch in her hands while dancing!
